Would a Radeon 9600SE Apollo Devil Monster 3 Radeon Pro Series work for Half Life 2?

9600se i think would have trouble running HL2 i have a 9600XT radeon 128 mb card but se are not very good the best is XT.

You would be able to play it.... it wouldn't look the best...and you would probably have to turn it down to DirectX 8.1, but...you could play it... maybe things on low?

How much ram\ghz you have?

You could play on medium settings probably... 'SE' cards are underpowered discount cards.

It should work pretty good. Depends what your expectations are and what quality you want to put the settings on.
Personally I would rather go with a standard 9600 or higher but I know a 9600SE will do. At least you'd get the DX9 effects unlike ATI's 9200 and Nvidia FX cards. ;)

I have a 9600, everything is on high except AA, although that really depends on the rest of your system. I have a good CPU and RAM to back it up.

I have an 9600SE and my FPS rarely drops below 30 with all settings maxxed, but AA off.

It will magically work when you take the liberty of asking in the Hardware and Software forum.

Ignore Danimal's evil sarcasm! Vote for Ennui!

It should work fine, I ran HL2 on medium (DX8 though) very well on an ancient 128mg Geforce FX 5200, so your 9600se should work fine.

You'll just experience the beautifully awesome HL2 instead of the amazingly breathtaking awesome.

I have the same card. I really need a new one.

you're talking about the 5200? yep, it's getting sooo dated.

still, when i got it I was like YUSSS I R LEET. That was like two years ago. Or 1.5

That card should run it ok, just tone down the graphics settings. My brother has a 9200SE 128mb, 900mhz amd athlon, and he can run CS:S on medium-low settings and he gets decent framerates.

You should be able to play with that card just fine.

Yep, just run it on medium and if that makes it annoying than move it down to low.

Half-Life 2 is gorgeous on any settings, really.

Heh, i have 3.2 P4 ht; 1 gig ram; and a X300SE card...what do youl think?

It'll run beautifully. The card isn't as good but the rest of your computer should make up for it.
