There should be a military discount for games. I mean,
the guys are fighting for people to be free (and Bush to have his ways). And they don't really get that much time. But they still try to enjoy them while they can.

I remember I was standing in EB Games once in the mall. This Sergeant in his bdu's walked in (about 5'8, bold build, he kinda looked like a drill sergeant) looking around. He asked me where he could find Half-Life for the playstation 2. I pointed it out to him, and then he sais "You think I'm gonna pay fifty dollars for that thing? Haha, I work for a living". I don't know guys, but just seeing how they don't get paid much, the most important thing is that they are fighting for us. Not to mention Iraq, they are getting wasted over there.

Personally, I think it's only right. Hell, I'd say give em like a 25% discount. That's right I said it, 25%. Closest would probly be 10% discount though.

As a former officer in the United States Army, I appreciate your sentiments - that's awfully kind of you...but we already get substantial discounts on most basic living items at the PXs on the bases as well as at most places in the local communities surrounding the base for non-basic items (such as auto dealerships, clothing stores, etc.)

It's not necessary for any corporation (like EB) to give us one...and believe me, for ground-oriented military personnel (Army and Marine Corps), our game playing time was virtually non-existent.

That would mean thousands of 18-year olds gets discounts on computer games every year here in Sweden. Great! Oh wait... you just meant for the US right? bummer...

*raises hand* Oh yes, yes..give some discounts for us serving our own country :)

I think all people that work should get a disscount...
...and people that don't work to...

Give me a disscount cause im a tax payer...

I live near Fort Bragg, and there are lots of soldiers that play video games. We get together on LAN parties as well. Sure they don't spend all of their time on them. But they do play them. Especially the ones with families. A bunch of soldiers that were in the barracks were playing SOCOM: us navy seals on LAN. Pretty fun to watch how they work.

And yes, I meant discounts on other countries too. I wonder if Iraqi's get to play video games.

I think the Iraqi people are concerned with some more important things at the moment like adequate food and water, obtaining a decent job, and...oh yes, TRYING TO AVOID BEING BLOWN TO PIECES.

I think they are more concerned with getting clean water and heat back after USA liberated them from the evils of human sanitary conditions.

I am not in the military, but my dad was. They get plenty of discounts being in the military, especially at the BX/PX. Not only do they have discounted prices, you also don't have to worry about sales tax either. On top of that, many places offer a 10% military discount - you just have to ask for it.
