Hi, I'm new to this stuff. Just wanna create some cool weapons or characters for fun.

1) Can MilkShape3D be used to make HL2 models?

2) Say you create a model in a program such as this one ^ or say StudioMax - how do you then use in a game? I don't really understand this whole process. Do you have to save it as a specific file? :O

Thanks.

Modelling programs is basiclly personal prefrence, Milkshape is a powerful program to say how simple it is and its 3mb download. But if you ever want to get anywhere with modelling I would strongly sujest moving onto proffesional programs. People say start modelling with milkshape before you start with 3dsmax, but I disagree. Its a very anoying thing to get used to one 3d program and then move to another. You can also get stuck on one program and lose motivation to learn new and better things.

Answer:

1. yes it can be done for modelling

2. Just export it as a certain format and import it into hl2.
