I haven't purchase yet HL2 coz fear that my PC cannot handle.

I (and maybe others who haven't play it yet) wanna to know the min. spec. for PC to run HL2 smoothly.

BTW, here's my PC spec.

AMD Athlon 1800+
MSI MS-6712 (KT4V)
256 DDR 400/PC3200
64 nVidia GeForce4 MX440
80 GIGs HDD
WinXP Pro

Is it good enough???

P.S. I can play CS:CZ very smooth.

Any reply(s) will be appreciated!

It sounds okay.

Half Life 2 has a minimum Spec:

Windows 2000/XP/Me/98
1.2 GHz Processor
256 MB RAM
DirectX 7 level graphics card
4.5 GB hard drive

So you match the minmum spec on memory, are better on CPU and your graphics card is good.

There is a test that involves your card in this long article:

The same can actually be said about the GeForce4; we found the GeForce4 to run Half Life 2 extremely well in DX8 mode, and the image quality is quite good.

They talk about getting a good 45 frames-per-second with the GeForce 4 during the game.

u wont the best out of hl2 but it will run at low settings i wouldnt enjoy it though

That quote is for the geforce 4 ti, NOT the MX. The MX is a dx7 card, he will have to run in dx7 mode. It will run smoothly, but very ugly.

Yeah, I see that now. It's nice of them to not tell us which "GeForce 4" they mean, and drop off the letters "MX" or "Ti" after having talked much more about the MX but now they mean the Ti. :hmph:

Still, 40+ frames-per-second is still good for the MX.
