Mirror's Edge reminds me of Equilibrium , Ultraviolet and Aeon Flux.
Post yours.

Mirror's Edge comes from a world I may not understand.

The Matrix
Ghost in the Shell

And basically every cyberpunk / flashy action movie made in the last decade and a half. Aside from the interesting utopian appearance of its dystopia, I'm sure it's not going to set the world on fire with its story. Big Deal. For me, the single biggest thing that Mirror's Edge reminds me of? Sonic the Hedgehog. I think it's going to be similar in many ways: imperfect, but one heck of a twist on a stale genre. It's different enough that I no longer care how many tens or even nines this game doesn't get. I want in on the ground floor with this twist on FP, even if gaming academia inevitably prefers to point out its flaws and sneer at it for being on the pedestal they hyped it onto in the first place.

New topic: let's think of a more specific/random thread topic than this thread's.

Post pictures of your favorite portuguese actor drinking tea!

Perhaps the best comparison would be District 13, set in the distant future in a not so clean ghetto of Paris (although the plot is pretty much the opposite of Mirror's Edge). Certainly the best example of parkour in any movie I've seen, and it's actually a good movie. If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor.

You know what, let's just all come right out and say it: 1984. It's like 1984.

All games are like 1984 now.

It's a big 1984 Totalitarian State-a-palooza!

I say it's like Fahrenheit 451.
WHAT NOW?

I spent a while on google images, couldn't find anything :(

I got more of a Brave New World vibe, or at least 1984 meets Brave New World. Explicitly in that it is a Totalitarian hell disguised as a Utopia.

reminds me of this game

Damn that game to hell.

Too many hours wasted.

I'm confused. Did the demo come out for PC at all? When does the game launch officially? I feel so out of the loop. Help me. HELP ME!

Finding Nemo
No no, it's more like Monster's Inc. They gave up their liberties to the Child Detection Agency.

PC Mirror's Edge is apparently out January 2009. I imagine we won't see a demo until then either.

Idk what most of you are talking about. It seemed more like The Notebook than anything else.

Everyone thinks I came up with it because I'm some sex offender or something. =|

Well we're all sex offenders here at hl2.net
