So in GTA IV we're given the option to retry missions after failing them by accepting a text message on the ingame phone.
This is a decent feature, no reloading, no driving miles back to the start point and no fuss. All you have to be prepared for is either a costly hospital bill if you've been wasted or a costly bail package and weapons if you've been busted.
However, unless it's a chase mission which my target has escaped on, I don't use this feature. In all honesty, it's fecking rubbish. The restart involves putting you back in the action by stripping you of any body armour you had and reducing your health if you've taken any damage. So you wind up reloading your game anyway so as not lose your protection, life and ammunition.
Does anyone actually use the restarts outside of chase missions? (And possibly the assassinations). I don't. It's seemingly pointless unless you're very, very impatient.
