I just put some of that white cream(lol forgot the name of it) on my mobo chip thingy i took out the heatsync and i put it only on the dark small chip in the middle and now my temp gis higher than before. Before it was at 30-35C and now it goes as high as 38. Is this normal?

Wait til it settles and how much did you put on?
Generally you put just enough to cover the core because it's just enough to fill in the gaps between the heatsink and core or heatspreader.

It's also possble that you didn't put it back on right but since it's only 38C I doubt that is the case.

Now is this your CPU temp? Because your motherboard temp should not be affected by it at all.

I only put it on the core i didnt put much my cpu temp is actually lower than my motherboard temp its 27-30C when its ideling and 38C at full load is my motherboard temperature to hot and why did it increase the temperature?

That is probably not your motherboard temp but your CPU temp. Quite often software will mix the two up because the sensors are not actually named CPU and MOBO but different names.

Is your room warmer than it has been?

No my room isn't warmer its in the basement so its quite cool around here, the temp for the mobo is at 33C when i play a game like Battlefield Vietnam it goes up to 38C at what temp should i start worrying at?

Thanks for the help! :D

when you see smoke comming out :p

it depends on the bord and on the stuff inside. look at your mobo info if you have it.

:dozey: As long as it's functioning hell with the temps... my mobo idles like 35C can reach load temps of a whopping 45C DEGREES! You see I have one of those small ATX Mobo's which suck anal greatly. So my x800 Pro which gets temps from 50C idle to 70C Load is right next to my chipset heatsink. My CPU is just above, which idles 39C and loads @ 50C to make matters worse my RAM sticks and like really really close by my graphics card as well, those get hot too I bet, and then my harddrives are just right there. So yeah, all those things bunched up and the graphics card and CPU temps create hell for the other things.
