How are you all? My name is Michael 'Kalo' Steele and today I will be introducing you to the Band of Brothers modification for Half-Life 2:

The Band of Brothers Mod is based on the real life events that took place in the lives of the men of Easy Company, 506th PIR Regiment, 101st Airborne, during WWII. The mod will accompany the elite airborne soldiers of Easy through the horrors of war that Easy encountered throughout their European Campaign. You will re-fight some of the most significant and epic battles of the war. From the training they endured in Georgia to Hitler's Eagles Nest prepare yourself for one of the most sought after modifications for many games, Band Of Brothers.

The modification will be planned and developed to portray the battles Easy Company experienced as accurately as possible. Our team of Historical Advisors is hard at work digging up immense amounts of information to aid us in our very detailed approach to development. We strive for realism, and ethnicity too immerse you into battle.

We’ll recreate Easy’s battlefields with extreme accuracy. We’ll stick to the historical aspect of the modn by drawing from scenes from the hit HBO Series 'Band of Brothers' and the novel by Stephen E. Ambrose into the mod to allow the player to relate to the battles. Our team is planning every little detail meticulously all the way down to how you read and saw the men carry themselves in the story.

We have many features planned for this mod as well as some that are still being thought out.

We hope to provide the player with a unique gaming experience filled with intense adrenaline rushing battles. The mind-blowing special effects and sounds will add to the realism and intensity of the battles. Our battlefields will be 'open' instead of having the player being confined to a single path that he or she must take to accomplish a mission. The whole gaming environment of this mod will be tuned to the senses with realistic sounds, sound effects, and visuals. It will be a true masterpiece of the senses and the ultimate gaming experience.

For more information, check out our website. If you have any questions feel free to post them here, on our forums, or ask us on irc: #bobmod on irc.gamesnet.net.

and HBO are happy to let you use the Band of Brothers name?

I can think of the senerio that even if you make a good mod, your mod is gonna be left in the shadow. Its too many WW1/2 mods (_I_ believe) so some mods will end up with no players. If it is a WW2 mod you want, you have to take this risk. Im not saying that this mod will die or anything, maybe its this mod that will meet the gamers on thair screen, i donno. Just keep that in mind.

Now im just waiting for the "**** you", i get that everytime i write something on this board :)

One more thing...its early in the morning here so the text is filled with spelling errors...sorry about that.

**** you, Majestic XII!!!!!!! (just trying to make you happy) :p

Anyway, I too want to know if its with consent from HBO... And what this mod offers above everything else. I've read the features, and sure its neat, but its nothing THAT interesting... Is it singleplayer? That might be a bit interesting...

Sidenote: Shouldnt this be in general editing?

Onemore thing about your site.

Im trying to kill the people next door by playing a badass rave tune in the morning (around 10AM here) but you ****ed me up with the warsounds on your page :D

HBO's consent? who cares about them, I'd be more worried about Stephen Ambrose and the surviving members of E Company.

HBO probably have the rights to the name. The surviving members dont have anything to say about it (well they do, and I would respect their choice if they didnt want it to be made and I was on the team, but they dont have anything in the legal ways to say about it). But I dont know the full background to it.

We are currently in talks with HBO to obtain their consent. If we fail to do so, we will change the name promptly.
