I can't wait to play some of the mods that will be coming out for HL2. There is one particular mod that i want to play on HL2, and that is, "They Hunger". I particularly liked that mod. And i'm just wondering what it will be like with the HalfLife2 Physics, New shading system, and releastic sounding wind and thunder. I thought that the first five to ten minutes of that mod was eerily good to play. heres my theory:

1) They decide to remake the mod, with the new source engine, with more :x and  and with a hint of :borg:

2) They decide to go retail with the game, including all of the above from 1) and slap together an extra 55 minutes of gaming pleasure, with extra vehicles, more marines and a longer helicopter/boss showdown.

3) They thought the mod was moraly wrong and so decided to remake USS Darkstar again.

What mods and games are you waiting for to play with the new source engine (This can include HalfLife2 and Vampire: Bloodlines)?

obviously hl2 is using the source engine so option one is not relevant, I went for new Mods .

Definitely going to go with new MOD's on that one, sir...

New mods! Brians mod! I'm especially looking forward to that one. :)
And TF2 would be wicked in Source to...

HL2 and cool mods!

(Thanks, [CoHn]FuSeD :E.)

I'm especially looking forward to any single player mods, as that's like a whole new game, and I'm not really that keen on multiplayer...

The reason why i asked was because i was thinking. What if someone decides to bring out multiplayer that includes destructible terrain. Think about it, missing an opponent with an RPG, misses, and hits a window on a building, sending shards of glass into a totally differerent opponent. Or a sniper hides out in a building shooting your comrades, so you decide to roll up in a tank, and blow the side of the building off, taking the sniper with it.

Okay, i dont know how many times i said this but i say it one more time.

I want to see new original hl2 mods! Not the same WW2/modern close combat aka cs mods we have for HL1! Man, im sooo bored, cant people think of new ideas?

Bah! Okay, now i got the feeling that i just gotta write some more on my mod...

Totally new mods, and old updated ones. I can only vote for one, though, so I voted for the totally new ones ;).

I'm with you all the way on that one. :)

I'm just startin' on mine (mostly singleplayer), and that was the FIRST thing I wanted to make sure of...

I'd like to see some of the HL1 mods in HL2, like DoD, NS & Sven coop.

hmmmmmmmmm... just think how many sweet mods are out for hl now that can be converted and made so much better......

YES QUICK REPLY IS BACK!!

I want DoD2 to blow away other crappy WWII games.

A_Drunk: can you make your sig smaller please, 4 lines max

Thanks.

Oh, welcome to the forums btw :)

This is what i want to see in a new HL2 mod:
Destructable terrain
Destructable buildings
Destructable people
Tanks, ships, trains, planes and the pimpmobile (Rolling up in a pink comfertable with a Gattling Gun in the back)
Urban, Jungle, Desert, Artic play
Ability to play upto 64 people at any one time
The mod also has simple bots going around there simple business (going to shops, etc), and they react to what you do (Killing them losses points)

Yeah I would like to see new mods using the source engine. I also would like to see other games utilize the source engine as well. That Vampire game that uses the Source Engine looks awesome.

A little bit from colum A. and a little bit from colum B. (simpsons reference)
I want to see the Half-Life mods like DoD and C-S but I would also love to see what they can do with the new engine. I just started playing DoD and I'm hooked (a little bit of C-S too) I'm impressed what ppl have managed to do with such old technology I can't wait to see what they do with the new.

Vampire: Bloodlines has been announced that it would use the source engine, and there is a rumour that TF2 is going to use it, but are there any games that we don't know about. I would laugh the reason why Duke Nukem 4ever was delayed because they signed a contract with valve to allow the use of the source engine. Now that I think about it, that would fit perfectly.

Principally I'm interested to see the HL², but after that I'm totally fascinated to see whch Mods, or developers take the engine and really run with it in new directions with regard to gameplay, storyline etc.

I'm after the new orriginal mods and of cause the game.

Btw, TF2 was confirmed to be on the source engine. :D

Pity we dont know ANYTHING else about it.
Gets me depresed not knowing ANYTHING.

*hint valve if you read this* :p

I though they would release HL1 again with the new physics options. It would be funny to learn the reason why HL2 can run on puny system is because valve have created the proper version, and a one that contains funny cell-shaded models

New mods indeed! I'm sick and tierd of all the "basic" mods, TS on HL2 would have been cool I think, but no; NOT CS.

HLDM and TFC is classics, they got to come with HL2.

Well if the source engine cant do this, I know a game in the works that has all of what you just said: Distructuble terrain, buildings, huge maps, here take a look for your self. its called "Soldner: Secret Wars"

Soldner: Secret Wars
