I've had the idea for this mod for a while, but finally I've decidied to try and make it. I want this mod to be available for all to join, but for now I'm just looking for interest, not hiring.
What type of game is it?
It's a single player game with, hopefully, a lot of diversity in the enemies.
Storyline
'When somebody dies, their spirit passes on to the next life...'
'when somebody dies before their time, their spirit cannot fully pass on, and is trapped in a struggle between our world and the next.'
'Over time, their spirit settles, in a world between ours and the next, a world dominated by spirits, a spirit world...'
The game follows the story of a man (unnamed,) whose wife has just died in an unfortunate car crash. He refuses to accept the death of his wife, and blocks out the fact so strongly, that he actually causes himself to believe that his wife is still alive. Because of this, he still has a strong connection with her, and begins to be drawn in to the spirit world along with her...
After that, the barrier between our world and the spirit world begins to collapse, and spirits enter the city. There will also be a small puzzle elements in the game, because you can find rifts between our world and the spirit world. If you can't get through a certain place, just step through a rift and find the place has changed.
Enemies and Allies
I haven't really planned out many of these yet but here are some ideas...
allies:
- a psychic (no, not those corny ones who work in those dimly - lit stores.)
- a special forces officer
enemies:
- a basic spirit (which can only be killed with a camera)
- a banshee
- possessed police officers, civilians, special forces etc...
Weapons
Some of the weapons in the game will be...
- A fire axe
- A camera (they're supposed to capture spirits, so I thought I'd put it in)
- A pistol
- A sawn - off shotgun
I'll need these when I start looking for people to fill roles;
- Programmers
- 2D artists
- Modelers
- Skinners
- Web designers
- Concept artists
- Mappers
- Musicians
- Aditional writers
I've probably forgotten something, so if there's anything else you can do, don't hesitate to tell me.
I haven't worked on a mod before, but I do have some experience in writing.
Remeber:
it doesn't matter how much experience you have or if you can only work for a short period of time / only part time.
