I'm feeling extremely lazy, so instead of writing something interesting/and or trying to be funny, I'll just leave it up to the ModDB boys (copy+paste ftw):

Voting for the 2005 Mod of the Year Competition at the ModDB has just officially kicked off! The aim of these awards is simple, find the best damn mods around - released and upcoming, old or new, colorful or just text, any mod can win! Voting is open to all so this invitation is extended to you, to nominate your favorite mods because unless you want to see something shoddy win, give your fav mod the thumbs up! (http://mods.moddb.com/)

After a month of voting, the winners will be announced in January - so get involved and have your say!

GOGOGO!

copy ! its cpoy! :p hmmmm who should I vote for..... a hl2 mod has to take it this year damn it... so ill give dystopia a vote or something else I dunno.

Bah, BM: S isn't even released yet.

P.S. 101 sinful souls clicked the link in my sig! This calls for a celebration!

:p I had this in my sig for a week, no more, and look how many brains I've gotten:

Anyway, can your celebration involve whipped cream and Ennui lovin'? (oh dear)

Doesn't matter if it's released or not. BM:S is shaping up really nicely. They got very professional level-designers, modellers etc. and I have no absolutely no doubt that it will get to be a really fantastic remake once it's released.

Minerva got my vote also because it's shaping up to be an extremely superb singleplayer campaign. And it's only made by one professional level-designer which is quite impressive to say at least.

Well if you had to vote for already released mods I would vote for Garry's Mod. But if not Incoming Source gets my vote.

How do I vote?

First, search for a mod you'd like to vote for then click on it on the list and then you'll see the vote menu.

For suggestions: click here

Which reminds me, can community members submit news items?

These mods. We're voting for fan-created mods only, right? Or both fan-created and VALVe created Mods?

If both:
Fan Created Mod: HL2: Substance

VALVe Created Mod: CS:S

If you can find it on the ModDB you can vote for it.

Did everyone forget about the revolutionary mod that made Half-Life 2 into a virtual playbox and machinima studio?

Garry's Mod, easily.

Really should be limited to existing, playable mods. Not wip. Remember the 1999 E3 multiplayer game of the year, Team Fortress 2?

Anyway my vote goes to Garry's mod. I doubt any other mod's gotten as much play.

I'd vote for Sourceforts but it's not awesome anymore :(

Fortress Forever or dystopia,,,,,,,,,,, Fortress Forever I think.

That's odd - Every mod I click on I get a message saying 'you've already voted'!! I've never been to this site before! It's the same deal for mods I wanted to vote & ones i've never even heard off!! Anyone else getting this?

Yup. Same here

Same. Garry's mod easily deserves it.

Although we only vote for the one modification, there are a good few awards selected by the judging board, e.g. best upcoming modification etcetera.

Also, Black Mesa: Source.

Why would we vote for mods we haven't even played yet? They might blow.

Garry's Mod gets the vote. I have seen some immensely creative things done with this mod.

If I had a vote for SP mod, it'd be Minerva, however it hasn't really had that much 'modded' material created for it yet.

I wouldn't be able to vote for a MP mod, none of them are popular enough yet to have servers in NZ :(

Half these proposed mods won't even see the light of day. Atleast split the choices between Mod of the Year, and Most Anticipated Mod of the Year.

Natural-Selection got my vote. It needs all the publicity it can get...still.

Yeah, they should also have a "biggest letdown" for mods released in year lol

There are more categories that the ModDB team will choose from after the main votes are tallied, these include most anticipated and biggest letdown.
