The guys over at modDB, have posted up the results of their wallpaper competition and the winners. All of the top 10 wallpapers they've posted are excellent pieces of work, and I can say without a doubt that the 1st placed wallpaper is absolutely amazing. I'll leave you to look at that one yourself, but here are the 4th, 3rd and 2nd placed wallpapers (by CY:G, StuffMasters and [DSL]StalceR):[br]

In slightly related news, HalfLife2.net will soon be launching our own community competitions. As some will know it's something we've been planning for months and in true HalfLife2.net style has been delayed many times. But, we have the new site design up, the prizes (which have been sitting in one of my cupboards for months) and the competition details finalised so watch this space!
 
All they need do is remove the watermarks and they're useable!

I still think the combine wall in the gallery here is the best though.

i wanted that too but the resolution isn't high enough :(.
 
I like the third one, nice Wallpaper, shame any WP lags my comp up on XP or i would use it :(
 
I'd use the wrench one as my wallpaper, but it's too small. I wish they had bigger versions.
 
Very nice work, except BlueWolf72, can you ask the winner(s) to see if they can make higher resolutions of the wallpapers, preferably 1280x1024? It would be strongly appreciated; as well, what did the winners actually win?
 
Nope, but i guess posters and a t-shirt from valve like everyone else gives away :)
 
I really think all of the screenshot guys shouldn't even become top 10, since they have only used like "cut and paste", and a few other things to make an winning wallpaper..

I like n30s, since its rusty and he made it himself.

I think pixartist should have entered one of his wallpapers. I love them.

I was being very sarcastic... i cant take any credit doing that. It was merely photochopped in a matter of seconds :)
 
Bluewolf, how could I have possibly won? I kinda sux when it comes to ideas, but I guess I cloud have atleast done something..
I just almost never browser the moddb forums, I just watch the mods :p

Because you simply stamped a HL2 logo on top of concept art.
 
the winning wallpaper was nice but i personally still like the wrench one the most :)
