Two peculiar issues, may or may not be related.

I'm a seasoned mapper myself but this has had me stumped for a few days now.

My crowbar and most other models that I place in my map via a prop_physics, etc. appear gray and colorless unless under direct light, at which time the color reappears. If I pick up the item and walk out of the light, it quickly loses its color. Note that this does not happen in regular Valve-made HL2 SP maps. I wasn't sure if this was related to cubemaps or not, so I placed a few in the map, and ran buildcubemaps. When I run that command on my maps or any of the sdk_* maps, I get a Visual Runtime error after it runs through all the images in the upper-left.

Anyone else experiencing either of these issues? Very few people at the VERC are and no one has a solution. It's kind of frustrating because my setup should in essence be the same as everyone else's, since we're all using Steam and all, same compile tools, etc. So I really don't know what the cause could be.

Here's a pic of the gray models, and here's a pic of the error when I run buildcubemaps.

you do need to use buildcubemaps to get them looking right

I dunno about the error.. not seen that one before.

Apparently more people have it than I thought and Jeff Lane already said it will be addressed in the next update. So I guess I'm just waiting.
