models not showing in browser

ever since the update when i try to add any prop into my map, they only appear as black squares in the model browser

is there some steeting switched on or off that i can change?

sorry if this is a stupid question but its so hard to work on it when i dont know what model im selecting
ive just been guessing by name and finding working ones
