i read the thread on building a system totally useful and thought maybe someone would have some advise on which graphics card i should install in my "in the process of building" machine. I am probably unlike most of you in that i am a moderate gamer-- so for me buying the msi radeon x800 for 400$ i think would be overkill. however at the same time i don't want to be too limited in which games i can play.

Any suggestions. Looking to keep this under 200$ or 150 euros

TBH i'm quite happy with the performance of my 9600pro - i play HL2@1280x1024, and D3/FarCry/UT@1024x768, although if i'd have known better at the time i probably would have bought a 9800pro or a 6600gt because the native resolution of my monitor is 1280x1024 and the 9600 can't quite cut it at that resolution:)

6600 gt im thinkin, or if you really want ati get a 9800pro althought the 6600 gt would be a better bang for your buck

6600GT performs better than the 9800pro. I have seen a benchmark where the 6600GT out performs the card by about 20fps in each test.
