Modern Mafia's - What's the scariest?

I'm watching this thing on History Channel... Organized Crime: A World History. Its going on about the Red Mafia, Sicilian Mafia, etc. The current one i'm watching is about the Red Mafia(Russian mafia).

The Redfellas as they're sometimes known... in the 5 minutes of information about the murders and operations that these people have, i'm scared shitless imigining what it might be like living in these places in Russia where 80% of businesses pay the crime families protection money. I mean... that happens here in the states, but its so small in comparison that its like a speck on the radar, compared to over there where it seems to be rampant after the soviet union collapsed, with all the murders and everything else.


What I wanna ask you guys... is what do you think is the most violent, ruthless, scariest mafia? Russian Mafia gets my vote. <shudders>

I remember a few years back a story of a mafia murder in a small city in italy ..2 guys chased down a third stabbed him to death and cut off his head then preceded to toss it around loudly decalring what happened to people who crossed that particular family ..this was in plain daylight in the town square in front of dozens of witnessess ..no one came forward when the cops asked for witnesses

Thats because they've all had military training and many are ex-spetsnaz, so they are fully trained to kill without a second thought. And that scares me.
