the original hl had a bunch of mods, cs and the world war 2 ones etc. but for half life 2, since the creators of these mods know how much they were played (and hopefully enjoyed) they decided to get Money (who doesnt want to get rich?). Especailly cs. Did any of you hear about any new mods in the making that are for free? Downloadable

For HL2? Every mod in the making is free as far as I know. You dont charge for an alpha or beta usually. It will be some time before cost is an option...

Hey a bit of a newbie question can you download your own mod making/mapping kit for this game from any site. I mean you did say that there were mods in progress so, they have to be developing them with soemthing. Thanks

Actually they're just making models and skins, the coding part needs the SDK. They will release the SDK sometime before the game.

Are you serious about selling cs. I didnt think so. I think it comes for 'free' with Half Life Generation 3 packet thing. I mean you still pay for the pack but Counter Strike still comes with it.

Well yeah, Valve has been distributing the SDK to some select groups.

regarding dod and cs in stores: they're stand-alone versions, meaning you don't have to own HL for them work. Its pretty good for the heathens who don't own HL.

Lol sorry. Well i thought you couldnt at least in Germany (im not german, but lived there) there was any sign of it. I dont know about how it is in the states and canada since i havent been for a long ass time.
