Medal of Honour Pacific Assualt demo to be released this week. It's the first of 3 demos ...one single player and two multiplayer (in august and september).

I'm looking forward to the single player demo but I'm more interested in the multiplayer, specifically the Infiltrator gamemode which is similiar to rtcw Enemy territory (multiple objectives and classes). This game definately resparks my interest in ww2 games which have been done to death lately. I think this game will make or break the MoH franchise but it has to surpass call of duty to bring in the fans that are tired of ww2 games. What do you think? Is there more room in the market for another ww2 game?

If it's going to be a clone of previous MoH or CoD then I would say that it would be the death knell for the franchise. I think that WW2 fans will be looking for something deeper which in all likelihood Brothers in Arms will provide with its combination of action and tactics.

yes I agree, that's why this time around they said they've concentrated as much time on multiplayer as they have on singleplayer. The objective based gameplay is unlike previous versions; it's more like RTCW Enemy Territory than Allied assualt

I hope they beefed up single player as well - my BiA comment was more directed to single player gaming but for mp, something new is needed - we have a rash of WW2 mp games and somehow it needs to distinguish itself.

ya I too have higher expectations for single player. I dont know ...BiA looks good but unless they beef up the enemy ai it looks like your squad will do most of the work. But I agree BiA is worth a try it looks good although I hope it isnt dumbed down for the pc because it's made with the xbox in mind.

Honestly I don't think Brother In Arms will be a great success, let's look at the facts: it's another rehash of a second world war game set in France. Pacific Assault on the other hand takes you to the Pacific theatre which hasn't been fully exploited plus it offers melee combat ;)

BiA is much more innovative though, it certainly has that proper tactical squad based combat feel to it. That strategy mode where you plan your move seems pretty intresting, Gearbox just needs to buff up the A.I. of the enemy and the ragdoll physics/ or death animations some more. The ragdoll physics looked horrible in that E3 movie of BiA - the character fell down like a stiff card board box when shot - jeez even HL1 had better death animations.

in BIA the enemy tactics look VERY scripted.. I'm worried that It's going to be an enemy scripted COD-like + unscripted ally stuff...
You could find out you're missing 1/2 the gameplay you wanted in it...

I do like however that they are switching over to the pacific theater for once

Finally some news! \o/

So, in the next 5 or so days then :D

400mb ?, hmmm must contain a bit of content then :)

Anyone know what multiplayer classes there are?

RTCW is as good as clan play gets imo, anything similar and i'm very interested. Unless the gameplay is slow and uses ironsights *spits* If that's the case it can rot with CoD and MoH :)
