I'm sorry for posting this in off-topic but I need help as soon as possible with this.

A few days ago I noticed my screen turning just a little bit darker, so I had to turn up the brightness to 100 on the monitor. Now, it has suddenly turned even darker, it's extremely dark now and I have contrast on 99 and brightness on 100..

What do you think could be causing this, what can I do to make it brighter of fix whatever problem there might be? HELP! :O

It will turn darker as summer turns to winter... and then it will seize to exist...

Oh boy Crazy, that's not good. The exact same thing happened to my monitor (as it aged) and soon after it just died on me.

Make sure the Wire sticking out of the back isnt crimped, that can cause some sever discoloration. Or it may be old and close to death.(IDK how old is your monitor? I really doubt its old enough)

If I could consolidate(sp?) you, I have to have my brightness and contrast @ 100% too, otherwise it's too dark.

The end times are coming!

Gather your rations and run to the hills!

TDE: Yes I know there is, but you know, when your pooter is dying you want help fast and there are alot more people browsing the Off-Topic forum ;)

Anyhow, I turned the monitor off for awhile and it's back to normal, not sure if it will return, but I will try and contact the store again and get it replaced/repaired.

EDIT: by the way, no it's not aged, it's just about a year old. I think there's manufacture failure and shit on it though, because i've had static thingy problems with it too.

Okay, it's getting worse again. I think I should try using the monitor from my old comp, think that'd be better than having this one blowing up in my face :)

My old viewsonic 19" monitor died in just after a year. It turned green since one of the other guns went out. I could hit my monitor and it would go back for awhile but that stopped working after awhile.

Todays lesson:

A 17" several years old Dell monitor lasts way longer than a mintcondition 19" Amitech monitor. :D

Of course my 19" monitor got taken to LAN parties a lot. Might be part of the issue there. ;)
What about yours?

I don't know really.. I have only had it at home, not messed around with it alot. Seems to be that it was just manufactured poorly or something, sometimes there appeared static thingies on the screen, like every vertical line was "duplicated", had to give it a beating to make it go back to normal aswell :D
