Hi there I am trying to access my bios to change some settings and when I press delete to access the bios at startup my screen goes black and a blue box appears stating out of range 70h.

But now heres the funny thing , when I just let my pc go through to windows (xp) it still states out of range but then the windows welcome screen appears and the monitor comes to life.

I have tried looking on the net for solutions , such as try uninstalling gcard or going into safe mode and choosing option 3 and reseting resolution, nothing has worked , so I dug out an old rage pro card and put that in , and the same results happen I am at my wits end!!

my specs are as folows

9600 xt 256 meg ram
2.600 barton core amd
an7 mobo
1 gig of 333 ram
and windoes xp

could someone give me a hand as I will be reinstalling xp soon as I have had problems with it in the past few days and formatting my hd will hopefully cure and the only way to do that is to go into bios and chnages the bootup settings but I cant

Sounds like a monitor problem. I'm guessing its an LCD, what brand and model?

Weird, CRTs should do that as they can adjust themselves to any resolution within spec. Do you have another monitor you can try connecting and seeing if you have the same issue?
