Get a 16:10 monitor with 1920x1200 native.
As for physical size, that's entirely your decision bro.
I recommend Samsung.
Um... translate to? 16:10 is just a ratio. 1920 divided by 1200 is the same thing as 16 divided by 10. It could be any physical size, that's completely irrelevant.
Pixels can be any size. A 15" monitor with 800x600 native resolution has smaller pixels than a 25" monitor running the same resolution.
If you're asking for a size recommendation for that resolution, I'd say at least 22"
Hmm, that looks good to me. I went with the T240 (24 inch) and payed about the same as that.
Sucks that it has no DVI... Mine came with VGA, DVI, HDMI, and a little USB hub supporting 2 extra usb ports (great for my keyboard and webcam). Even has speakers.
I have the 26inch version of vegeta's monitor. Its delicious. The only thing I dont like is the power button and wake up times. The button is like a touchstrip kinda thing, and it doesnt register touches very well. I have to rub the area with my thumb before it turns on. And if you have power saving options on with it so it goes into sleep mode after awhile, waking it up can take anywhere from couple seconds to almost a minute. I dont understand it.
But yea, size preference is entirely subjective. I'd say 26 is about the biggest I would go if im actually using it at a desk though.

I'm so used to just wiping the back of my finger along it, it's really no trouble for me.
As for this 'waking up' business, I have no idea what you're talking about. My monitor wakes up just fine, the same as any other monitor I've had.
Perhaps you should set your video source to manual instead of auto?
22-23" tend to be 1680x1050, 24"-29" are usually 1920x1200.
I'd recommend Asus. Something like this.
Having upgraded from a 17" 1280x1024 monitor I can say you're going to be thanking yourself and wondering why you didn't get a new monitor sooner.
Use it as a second monitor. You'll never be able to go back.
