Look at this list of people who have resigned/been forced out of Gordon Brown's cabinet in the past few days:

4 June: James Purnell
3 June: Hazel Blears
2 June: Jacqui Smith
2 June: Beverley Hughes
2 June: Tom Watson


The latest, James Purnell, has actively called on Brown to resign claiming his continued leadership is more likely to lead to a Tory victory at a General Election than not.

As I tweeted very recently (chrisevoevans is my name) "I feel we need a general election. I fear it will have dire consequences for the country"

Results from some English council elections and the UK EU elections are due soon (Sunday I believe for the EU ones actually) and they will show the direction the British public is leaning.

These definitely are troubled times in British politics, very troubled times.

I never did much like the top three on that list.
Especially Jacqui Smith. But then it always seem that the Home Secretary is completely insane.

I met James Purnell about six years ago. DIDN'T CARE MUCH FOR HIM.
