And me

'The other big revelation is that LittleBigPlanet will feature VoIP and all the characters are actually lip-synched; when you talk, their adorable oversized gobs will babble away, which is always entertaining.'

'It's funny - I don't think we actually mentioned this previously, but yes, we will certainly have enemies in the game; I think that's a fundamental part of good gameplay," said Wilson. "They will range from little robots that simply roam from left to right to spectacularly complex beasts that pose quite a challenge'

This is possibly the only game that made me interested in the PS3 to begin with, and yet it's still not enough to get me to buy one.
In a previous thread it was noted it'll probably be ported to the Wii, so that's all good.

does look like a gorgeous game on the PS3 though. Thanks for the new stuff.

Yeah, I can't be more excited for this one. User-created content will be INCREDIBLE!!! Endless fun with this title. Worth WAY more than $60 (but I hope its not actually more $$).

You are joking right? In all seriousness 99.9% of what game users upload onto the web is utter shit generally (see Sims2 community for an example..and those people are dedicated...), because it's poorly conceived, not thought through and rushed, because most people don't have the time to invest in making quality stuff as a rule. With all the movies the guys showed with this 'game' (sandbox is a better description), they probably spent weeks perfecting the levels, and these guys do it for as job. Johnny high street isn't going to top that unless he's putting mad hours in of labour and testing rather than mad hours of having fun (the whole point of buying the PS3). In theory the concept sounds great..in practice it's another thing entirely. I expect it will sell a bunch on hype and then die a death shortly afterwards.

Ok, you go over there. We'll be over here having fun making stupid stuff.

Check out a few of the videos showing how quick and easy it is to make something enjoyable.

The tools in Little Big Planet looks awesome. Simple, fun, intuitive. Want to make a massive tree to climb up or a sun with your face on it, easy. Content can be played and/or created in 4-player co-op and the game comes bundled with a load of premade levels giving you and friends stuff to play and inspiration for your own creations. Who cares if you've just made a skateboard to roll down a hill - the fun will be in the creating and playing with your mates.

So ner :p

People never got paid to make mods/maps for Unreal Tournament either, but alot of them are top notch quality.

I hope this gets ported to the 360 (or at least the Wii). This is such an awesome looking game!

I'm thinking of buying a PS3 only for this game. I wish it was also made for xbox 360.

Yeah, this is to be expected of course. There will obviously be a lot of crap, but if you have paid attention to anything about this title, you know that the cream will rise to the surface (via a handy little mechanism called "voting") and there will surely be some absolutely brilliant stuff offered by users who take the time to make a name for themselves by developing ingenious levels for this remarkable title. I don't see it fading anytime soon--the possibilities are endless mate!!

And a big bottoms-up to all those who have voiced their opposition to the mentality of the quoted fellow here already.

Man, if you use sims 2 community as an example of user made content... it's safe to say that user created content can produce highly sophisticated and professional work.

I've been amazed at all the stuff I've seen for sims 2, especially when it comes to the sim appearances themselves. Things such as new hair, new clothing... new everything. I found more stuff that impressed me than what didn't.

Am I the only one who doesnt know what the hell this game is about? It looks interesting though, still wouldnt pay 600 for a ps3 for any games for it though.:O

Fact is yes there is some top quality decent stuff out there in Sims2 community, same as there are some excellent mods, and excellent game levels, but to build your entire player experience around player made content pretty much means your going to waste an inordinate amount of time having to wade through piles of shit to find the odd diamond. Great if you have the time and inclination to while hours away hours searching, not so great if you have a life to balance.
