Great thanks, I got one, gonna try it out now, usually don't like MMOs but I like LOTR and it's a free beta, so can't hurt.:)

Oh i think Beta Characters will be transferable to the full game upon release :O
 
I have one Beta Key to give away, never used. I was excited in getting it; but laziness took over me and I don't even feel like touching it.

Hmm... just send a PM for the key along with the instructions received in the e-mail. :)

been playing since the first stress test on and off for 2 weeks now ...pretty poslished for a game still in closed beta. the stress test is open for weekends but if you play a minimun 6 hours throughout the weekend they'll invite you back to continue playing
 
I got two beta key's and gave away both of them.

While I love LOTR, I have no interest in this game...

champion level 8 ..pretty much a soldier/tank class...is it me or does the armor/clothing look kinda ...ghey?

until last night I was wearing red pants, green shirt ..one of those ftd helmets and purple boots ...anyone know if I can I dye them all black? jeez I feel like a flamboyant warrior skipping through the fields looking for daisies to pick

Yea the clothes can be kinda ghey..don't know if you can dye them or not :S

Just chosen my craft, my Burglar is going to be an educated Historian too :D So Scholarship, Farming and Metalsmithing will be learned :D

I think i may get this when it is released if i still enjoy it at the end of the Beta time :O
 
do you have to purchase the crafting skill, if so from whom? I'm just about to go to Combe but have to finish up Cal spinddley (or something) spider quest

I have "horns" <snicker> avaiable but havent bought it yet

why would you need a musical skill? can I learn to play the axe? if I cant wail to purple haze I'm not buying the game

I dont get how skills such as historian or lute player has any benefit in game ..can you throw books at enemies or bash them over the head with a lute? ...kinda why I picked only skills that help in combat

dont count on it ...when I installed the client I had to wait an additional 3 hours to get all the updates before playing ..hopefully for your sake it's the latest version

You should've talked to one of the builder fellows in Archet who will tell you to speak to a guy in Combe about the Crafting. He will be up the hill on heading east, giant section where you can do Crafting stuff.

As a Burglar i already have some musical skills, don't know what to do with them yet :|

When you get to the Crafting person you can look at all the options and chose one which suits you best, i'd say Armoursmith or Weaponsmith for your kinda Char.

Is this going to have a monthly fee? Might check it out if it wont.
 
most MMO's have a monthy fee ..if you pre-order you can get a special monthly fee of $9.99 ..or $200 for a lifetime subscription

Oh well, not got that much spare time to play anyway.
 
that's a great deal considering it's usually $14.95 a month ..you'd make up for it in less than a year ....although you'd have to know in advance whether it's worth playing for a lifetime ..if it were Age of Conan I'd get buy a lifetime subscription, but that's just me
 
Must say i am tempted by the life-long offer..i think it will be worth it what with all the other areas they will have to release, Mordor being my focus :D
 
Been in the closed beta for a while now. I keep downloading it to try it again, but I am dissapointed every time. The game doesn't feel like lord of the rings, it feels like a game that wants to be WoW. Only it isn't as good as WoW, and WoW wasn't that good to begin with. I have yet to play a mmo thats gameplay hasn't felt stale after a couple days. Age of conan might, but I doubt it. I guess I am just going to stay away from the mmorpg genre until the developers figure out they can't get WoW's subscribers, and they stop trying to mimic it.
 
agreed ...probably why I like it cuz it's so familiar, although I'm starting to think I should just bite the bullet and go back to wow ..why play inferior clones? ...to me it doesnt feel like I'm playing in the world of lotr, which isnt a big loss anyways
 
hm i registrated and they sent me a mail but there wasnt any confirmation link in it. In the instructions it tells me i have to follow it and then subscribe using my key i got but i cant subscribe unless i confirm my account. I got my Key tho...
 
You got your key? Go to codemasters and try to find the onlinegaming section, make an account for it, and then use the key to subscribe to the Beta when you get to the right part

Been in the beta for awhile now, and as someone who has played WoW for a couple years, this game is really a complete joke. I see this game flopping like just about every other MMORPG after World of Warcraft. Like Stern said, why play an inferior clone?
 
I can't even finish my first quest and find Whitethorn.

When I get to the location, the dwarves won't let me go in the halls. The door is closed
 
So am I just missing something here? I cant seem to find any keys at all?
 
If anyone has a key they're not using, can I get it please?

The reason i haven't played any MMORPG's so far is that i haven't like the setting/theme or whathaveyou. However i like the feel of the LotR universe, and i am sure Warhammer Online will be even better
