In my 360 mag today, Bethesda revealed that hte "fighter stronghold" (like the wizards tower but for fighters) is almost done and they have a couple of other plug-ins in the works. Oh goodie.
On a side-note, when asked which developers they admire they replied "like Valve and Blizzard...people who really stick to their guns and take as long as they need to get it right.

EDIT: The fighters stronghold is here: http://www.gamesradar.com/gb/pc/gam...15105153593059&releaseId=20060125103221890055

All the new houses and stronghold mods were lame. Except for the pirate one.

Too bad Bethesda didn't "take as long as they need to get it right" imho at least. Don't get me wrong, I love them and I love Oblvivion, but the modding community made that game great where the retail release was just better-than-average.

Fighters' Stronghold sounds wicked though! :bounce:

Yeah, and dispite that they seem to offer little surport to modders at all. They could learn a thing or two from OOO or some other balance mod. Heck, the guy who did the combat in Oblivion was the same guy who made that mod for better combat in Morrowind. They hired him to do the Oblivion combat he was so succsesful. Right now though, it feels as if they don't give two shits about the modding cummunity.

A Fighter's Stronghold? Unless there is actually a story behind it, or some great new feature, I doubt I'll get this. I don't know, I'll wait and see I guess.

But heck, if they continue the current trend with the "Strongholds" that better mean we will get a Dark Brotherhood-style SH (no, cheydinal sanctuary doesn't count).

I want more plug-ins like "Mehrune's(sp) Razor." Quests with plot behind them are what I am after.

All these add-ons and they still haunt bothered to retro fit the saving system for PC users. All the better for my manager 15K+ downloads.

Meh, this will probably come with The Shivering Isles, so i'll just wait till that comes out. :|

I really don't like some of the mod community. Some of them are real douchebags. Especially when it comes to some of the story/quest/NPC mods. I remember downloading the Ruined Tail's mod and while it was pretty decent, you had to see how the creator treated people. There's one part in the game where you have to find a crumbled piece of paper on the floor in a town. One guy posts saying how he can't find it and the creator just berates him for being too stupid to find. I mean shit, it took me awhile too.
The creator goes on to say if you don't like their mod, you're an idiot, simple as that. While I thought the mod was good (I didn't find myself caring for the character as much as anyone else did, but then again, that was with every character in Oblivion) nor did I find him as complex as the creator stated he was, I enjoyed the mod.

...But yeah that's all I gotta say.

What a nob.

is there an up to date 'must have' mod thing for oblivion ? i'm thinking of reinstalling it but i don't want to drudge around looking for the best ui mod, texture mod, etc. :x

Chekc out the readme. In a nutshell it eliminates the terribel leveling system, but there are other features too.

This one is my personal favourite.

They have some ideas too.

Fighter Stonghold - another useless lame add-on introduced to the player by an invisible long-lost half-uncle.

Whats completely ridiculous is when you start a new game with all these crappy plugins installed the moment you leave the sewers you get bombarded by multiple text boxes announcing that you've 'won' about 4 houses by invisible relatives even though you've just escaped and no one knew you were even there - IMMERSION KILLER?!!

I know I hate it too. You should hear about them in the rumors or summat, like in Knights of the nine, or get to certain places in certain quests.
