I don't know what it would be classified as. Ambient 80's Sci-Fi Synth?

I recall the Mass Effect soundtrack being kinda blade runner-ish, is the ME2 soundtrack similar/worth downloading?

Ive jumped the gun a bit and havent listened to the songs youve listed as youtube is taking an age to buffer.

All I can think of are bands like;

E.S.Posthumus (Pompeii is an unforgettable god-like tune)
Corner Stone Cues (their Forest Chase song is awesome)
Step Closer To Hell (or something like that)

Youd have to fish around to find their slower stuff.

But then thats the kind of music used in movie trailers to give an 'epic' feel, and in films like Gladiator, but faster paced.

Dont know what genre it falls into.

Oxygene is great, and about the only album I know of that falls in this sort of genre.

the music is lifted from people like Jean Michel Jarre (oxygene) Kraftwerk and Brian Eno. that's your best place to start

there's also modern stuff like the Orbs Toxygene and Orbitals Halcyon (from Hackers soundtrack)
