I recently played some of the old DoD on steam (i havent played it in 4-5 years, since i started playing Battlefield at that time instead of HL). And i really enjoyed it. I used to be very good at it back in the day, and the skills started to come back. What i like about it is that you cant run around like an idiot, as in CS/CS: Source.

You have to use cover, and you have to plan your movements. If you're open to a single bullet, you're dead. So i was thinking about buying DoD: Source, to get better gameplay and graphics. And i gotta know, have they still kept the tactical sneakyness of the old DoD? Or is it just a stupid run and gun fest like CS: Source now?

Yeah, you have to be pretty cautious about sticking out. A few bullets is enough.

I seriously recommend getting DoD source; I know what you mean about how the old DoD was very realistic and tactical/teambased. I think the gameplay has not changed too much fortunately (kar still kills in one shot NORMALLY, bullets can penetrate walls, grenades do lots of damage etc)
In Dod Source you definitely cannot expect to get far on your own trying to be rambo. Which is why it is great and for the price, it is worth the up grade.

Hmm, I feel that source just doesn't play the same way as 1.3, and I was kind of disapointed here and there while playing it for the first time. But, it still kicks ass in its own way...
So I'd say buy it for sure, but don't expect the exact same gameplay...

dod:s is actually an improvement, unlike what they did with cs:s.
