they're dressed as school girls, actually.... i think that just about explains WHY they're dressed like that. japan is (was) very sexually oppressed, so all this stuff i'm seeing isn't really surprising, in context.

believe you me, there are MUCH WORSE things out there... and that's my honest opinion as a person who, it could be said, has alternative tastes. :p

and yes, cosplay is totally screwed up, imo.

Home made costumes are far more disturbing than that. If you've ever been to an Anime con you know what I'm talking about.

well, i'm just trying to make the point that just because something is weird doesn't make it objectionable. Save your dry heaves for the stuff that's truly wrong and dispicable.

some people like fur or leather or latex, big deal, it's just a certain look that they like. it doesn't hurt anyone, it's the same as a woman who likes dressing up as a maid or nurse or a guy dressing up as a doctor. there's nothing inherently dirty or sexual about it, they just get a kick out of it.

now, if someone likes to cover themselves in animal entrails... THEN by all means feel free to express outrage and disgust, because even we think that's just wrong.
 
well the reason i point out furries is because from what i've seen, they seem to take as many fetishes as they can and combine them in a horrible spectacle of disgust.

what kind of person gets off on seeing a badly drawn pregnant dragon in S&M gear with 3 giant penises taking a crap while swallowing some lesser creature whole. Because thats the kind of shit that they make.

Actually i saw a very good Auron (FFX) one at Animania last year.

I wasn't cosplaying, i look enough like a stereotypical anime nerd in real life despite not actually watching much anime!

I was trying to think of something worse and I can't. Take really takes the crown there.

Oddly I am a fan of clean furry art. I find it interesting to see what people come up with.

oh man that reminds me. The city buses in sarasota carry the abbreviation for "Sarasota County Area Transit"... (scat) on their sides...

We call them the scat busses, you just see one and you laugh like a maniac. The designers of the logo obviously had no idea that scat had a previous meaning.
