This is how it should be. I'll give a little overview.

As expected, the x800 XT PE beat out every other card in every test, at every resolution, and at every AA/AF setting. If you can afford this card, and find it in stock anywhere, buy it.

The 6800 Ultra Extreme did ok. It came in second in, I believe, all of the tests. But that still costs $500.

Now, the big battle, the 6800-GT vs. the x800 Pro. In EVERY test, including 1600x1200, with 4xAA 8xAF, the GT won, though it was only a difference of hundredths in the last high res tests. At about 1024x768, the GT outperformed the pro by a few FPS.

So as you all see, the GT is right on par with x800 pro, but the XT PE is the best card available (available? what am I smoking). Enjoy.

Yep. Im still waiting for hardocp to do a benchmark because I wont trust anyone but them. But these benchmarks make me want to buy a 6800 ultra now instead of an X800 XT. I dont really care if it 10 FPS slower at 1600x1200 4AA 8AF. Its still at 60 FPS. 30 FPS is the minimum I would play at, 60 with most everything maxed would be sweet. I think the nvidia cards did very well concidering they usually do not perform as well as ATI in D3D games. And im sure both companies will be able to milk some more perfomance out of their cards for HL2 in the next couple months. I think with all 4 cards performing great availability will be the deciding factor in the end.
