Wow.. this game actually looks pretty good. I like how it has a free-roam(ish) type story mode.

This one does actually sound interesting, those fighting games were beginning to get dull.. well ok they got dull years ago. But this could be worth checking out.

Explain why I should be excited about this (MK has always been the poor mans Street Fighter imo)

DA turned me off of all fighting games, i didnt like the conquest mode for it at all. I wont play another fight game.

You won't be dissapointed with Deception. It puts in everything that made MK good and took out the crap that DA did. Such as putting back the stage fatalities and taking out reversals, taunts, and all those other stupid things from DA. Hara Kiri's and Death traps are new to the MK universe and they look amazing. Not to mention it has almost the best fighting roster of any MK game so far (second to MK2). Also once again there are 2 fatalities per character (which is another thing DA screwed up) and they actually look pretty good. Classic stages will make a return.

Also it kept the good fighting ending from DA and improved greatly on it. There will be a completely new conquest mode this time. Free roaming and very long and expansive. Not to mention you can play it ONLINE! Mortal kombat is finally online, thought I'd never see the day that this would happen. There's so much that this game has improved I can't even put it all in one post if I tried. Yes DA was a big dissapointment, but give Deception a chance, at least rent it, because it's going to rock.

BTW gameinformer gave it a 9.5!
