Without making them bold myself, most websites have bold words. Not that the words are big, they are literally bold. One exception so far has been hl2.net, but every other site has been bold for me.

Probably some accessibility option you accidently set.

Does it do this in all browsers?

havent checked, let me try

WTF in normal explorer, I get all italics, in firefox, i get all bold. WHAT THE HELLL?

ill give it a shot

UPDATE: not a virus.

Any more suggestions? its really annoying.

Just because noone has cared to look at it past my last post, I MUST BUMP!

The problem persists, I have tried to look up similar problems, but it seems this is a completely unique case!

ive actually tried messing around with it, but with no success

did you customize windows 'display' settings?

did you hold control and scroll your mouse wheel while using internet browsers? try this now.

did you mess with Windows handicapped settings?

did you install/uninstall font packs?

What version of FF are you running? Have you installed a new version (beta/RC) recently? If so, did you leave the old install or uninstall the old one first?

Double check FF's font settings to see what it is using. Check C:\WINDOWS\Fonts and make sure no files look out of place.
what is in my folder for times new roman:
TIMES.TTF - Times New Roman (TrueType)
TIMESBD.TTF - Times New Roman Bold (TrueType)
TIMESBI.TTF - Times New Roman Bold Italic (TrueType)
TIMESI.TTF - Times New Roman Italic(TrueType)

im running the latest version of FF, and also, asus, this is affecting my regular internet explorer as well. Except on explorer, its all italicized instead of bolded

and nothing seems to be out of place.

if it happened to me, I would have tried all the things suggested first, then I would have ran regcleaner (free registry editing tool) and see if there is anything new and suspicious installed.

then I would have ran spyware, addware, malware, and virus scans. this would be really time consuming but you can set it to run while you sleep.

I would suspect any program that handles things like fonts. for example, windowblinds, or other Windows appearance things. Try temporarily changing Windows Themes.

then, I would uninstall Internet Explorer - if that is even possible. or roll it back, then upgrade it again

then I would uninstall Firefox, delete all the folders for it then I would try installing firefox again.

After that, I would be so frustrated that I would probably re-install windows.

i tried all the suggestions posted here, except the reinstall firefox internet explorer, and windows part.

Im not that bothered by it

you can uninstall and reinstall an internet browser within 5 minutes. I did it the other day because I had 3 versions of firefox installed.

so i killed them all and started over.

I forced my lazy ass to check up the firefox stuff, and I did have an older version, after getting rid of it, problem was fixed lol
