I'd have to say it's a toss-up between the manhacks and those uber-zombies...

Those zombies have a tendancy to pop up out of nowhere and lunge at your face... I actually screamed a few times in Ravenholm when I'd be sitting somewhere trying to figure out where I was going next and one of these bastards would fly out of nowhere.

On the other hand, just hearing the sound of a manhack in the distance makes the hairs on the back of my neck raise. I picture some horror film scene with a guy getting swarmed by 'em, screaming in agony as he's butchered alive...

I think if one of them was gonna give me nightmares after a 20 hour sleep-deprevation gaming session, it'd be the manhacks.
 
The monkey zombies by far. Damnnnn, scary crap.
 
Most annoying because of quantity were the antlions imo. But I agree the zombies are scary and fast.

Not finished the game, maybe more are coming.
 
Fast Zombies and Poison Headcrabs

I hated the combine for a while, then the last part where your gravity gun gets steriods kind of made me pitty them ;)
 
Head crabs are the Most anoying for me becuase Mainly there just a nusence and somtimes a pain in the ass to kill.
 
The things that throw the poison headcrabs definitely are up there, the manhacks before you get the gravity gun are frustrating, but once you get the gun it's fun to throw them at CP's. I found anything you had to take out with rockets to be annoying, it takes a bunch of rockets and the damned things are constantly shooting you as you sit stupidly guiding the rocket to them. It wasn't that they were hard, it was just wasn't very fun. Kind of a related question did you guys roll grenades and then use the gravity gun to kill snipers ? or was that just me ?
 
At the start is was manhacks, then fast zombies now at coast those antlions.
 
manhacks and those fast ass zombies (damn things freakin scared the living crap out of me a couple times...)
 
Poison zombies and headcrabs. They just refused to die, and the poisoning effect annoyed me. I stayed well clear of those for the rest of the game.
 
Manhacks were a nuisance, till I figured out that the best way to pwn them was with the gravity gun.

The fast zombies were harder to kill than some of the metrocops, earlier on in the game. They are basically a nightmare if you had played the game on Hard, like me.
 
yea.... in ravenholm, the first time i was mauled by one of those leaping poison zombies it made my 5 yr old cousin cry.. they kind of remind of of the little drones from Alien vs. Predator.. but as for the manhacks.. if their swarm is somewhat big.. i just drop a nade at my feet, wait till the fuse is about to blow and use the grav gun to pull in any straggling manhacks.. and send them flying into 20 different directions... it's fun watching them shoot off like that... (i'm easily amused)
 
See, manhacks are easy for me early on. You just get your crowbar out and smack the **** outta them. I think they're fun to fight with. :D
 
I got annoyed at the ant lions after I abandoned the buggy. They were swarming and I just ran and ran and ran and shot them to thell until my bullets ran out.
 
If the game's set to hard it's without a doubt Manhacks because I spent the entire time in route kanal on 0 - 20 hp and they just generally piss me off in the way that they always seem to come in waves of half a dozen followed by 3 / 6 combine throwing bloody flaming barrels at you.
 
Well in the beginning it was the manhacks for me also, they gave me the willys when I hear them coming, but I got good at smacking them outta the park with the crowbar, now I use the gravity gun to suck them up or the really fun way, my shooty. Its like skeet shooting, PULL... BLAM, of course you run out of ammo fast, but its fun to see if you can take down six with six shots, I have done it, then reload real fast as you dance around and do it again :)
Now my most hated nemisis is the Antlion Guard, jesus those things are hard to kill. Luckily it looks like you only have to battle on in level 8 and 9 and thats it, at least I hope thats it. Cuz those freaks are not joking around. Oh yeh, according to the game guide they are also called Myrmidont.
 
Definitely Manhacks, second place would be the new headcrabs.
 
Nah Antlion Guards aren't all that tough... Just stand infront of a wall/pillar, strafe away when it charges you, then pump it's back full of shotgun shells. Rinse, lather, repeat. Should only take you 20-ish shots to finish it off.

But yeah, poison headcrabs annoy me the most, as well as metrocops sitting on turrets at incredibly huge distances and with awesome cover...
 
For the ant lion guards all i do is run around throwing things at them
 
the big antlions were my favorite enemy in the game. SOOOO much fun. you can kill them without fireing a shot, and no use of the grav gun. :D

Just stand in a wall, and move as it charges. it will knock itself out after a number of times. :D

Most hated: Combine. I seriously hated them, all the stuff they were doing to the humans...DIE DIE DIE!!! I mean, manhacks, headcrabbing villages....random acts of violance...I seriously hated em.

Most hated as an enemy: Definately the fast zombies...gah...and the poison headcrabs...

manhacks I hated at the begining, but came to like them ALOT later on...kill all but one, grab with grav gun and start running around like a maniac behind enemy lines. :D give those combine a taste of their own medicine. :D
 
Fast zombie, poison zombie, fast headcrab, poison headcrap.
 
freaking gunships man even tho they are easy to take down they can inflict massive dmg. i also dislike the poison zombies and the monkey zombies. i like fighting manhacks esp when i have antlions those little bastards own up on the man hacks

From a gameplay difficulty POV, the monkey-zombies and poison headcrabs are the worst, but the manhacks almost make me physically ill thinking about what something like that could do to you IRL... I'm scared of my table saw now. ;(
 
Definately those hyper zombies. They run at you, and there's no chance in hell to blast them before they reach you. Then your view gets distorted and you get bumped to some far-away place and the hyper zombie strikes again. Madness...

The manhacks are those small flying machines with a spinning blade in the center, right? Yeah, they're pretty annoying, too. Although some of the fights with them are pretty fun. A good change to practise your aim. :)

Poison headcrabs weren't annoying at all to me. In fact, they usually GAVE me health. Because after being hit by their poison, the suit would automatically administer "the antidote" which would boost health quite a bit. This was on normal difficulty, so of course, it could be an entirely different story on hard.
 
Antlions. I prefer to simply run across the sand...they really do swarm you effectively. And on hard they will rip you to pieces if you become trapped. I love it when you are their general and they bring the pain to the Combine in Nova Prospekt.

Packs of regular headcrabs are also annoying, especially in tight rooms.

Manhacks are easy...especially with the gravity gun. Just use primary and they turn into pieces and parts.
 
nothin worse than walkin around a corner into a zombie covered in poisonous headcrabs and having the little f***ers thrown at you.... I don't like spiders, so my skin was crawling..... AAAaaaarrrgggg!!!!
 
from worst to more acceptable:
Poison (black) headcrab. this freaks me out more than anything else
Poison zombie: that thing that has a backpack of poison headcrabs.
Queen Antlion: maybe not the queen but that huge bug... real nade spoiler
Helicopter/gunship: shit!
Fast zombies: they're ugly, toofast and annoying
Man Hacks : when they come from above it's terrible.
Combine Snipers if only you could see a shadow inside these windows...
Head crabs: we've knowned them for years but still...
Ant Lions: At least you finally manage to befriend them

I'm not done yet, Combine soldiers and police are my least hated ennemies so far, I'm not done yet, I've met Elites once or twice and only saw one Stryder in the distance so I can't really tell.
 
I don't understand what's so terrible about the manhacks.

The gravity gun not only makes them just about completely unable to touch you but also turns them into very effective weapons against each other and combine soldiers as well. Sure you run into a few before you get the gun but they're not that bad.

Personally, I hate the camera bots that are always alerting combine soldiers and striders to your presence. Also, those damn poison-headcrab throwing zombies. Geez. Those guys are irritating. They're just so bloody hard to kill.

All in all, though, I think the most annoying enemy was the Queen Antlion. She was a pain.
 
Manhacks arnt a pain, just pick em up with the grav gun and launch them into a wall

It's not how hard they were to deal with... I had no problem with them either... But they still scared the bejesus out of me.

Same. Stupid manhacks.
Fast headcrabs were annoying and the fast zombies were quite annoying too. As were th poison headcrabs and zombies (who spawned new headcrabs - what a clever party trick).
I loved the Antlions though, fighting them or commanding them ws great.
