Do you guys ever get those? Ugh, I hate dealing with them.

It's this kind of clearish white slime that reminds me of a booger that comes off the lining of the inside of your mouth.

It seems to be caused by the harshness of toothpaste or mouthwash, where it like necrolizes the skin there or something.

BLARGH!

Not sure what you mean. Sometimes i chew on the inside of my mouth, biting off small pieces of flesh (sorta like biting ur nails). Sometimes i do it so much that i get injuries, but they heal after a week or so.

Do you mean phlegm?

No it's not phlegm. There's none of the stuff before I brush my teeth, and always after I do it.

Well, it comes after I brush my teeth. I brush my teeth for about 2-3 minutes, and I'm guessing the toothpaste is so harsh that it's either rubbing off dead cells from the lining of my mouth(the areas inside the lips and cheeks and stuff), or it's simply killing a layer of it because the toothpaste is so harsh. A little bit after brushing my teeth when I run my tongue behind my lips or along the insides of my cheeks the slime kind of peels off and I have to pull it out.

It's all gross and exactly like very wet boogers. But they're not boogers or phlegm as far as I can tell.

I havent experienced that, although i have something similar happen were the roof of my mouth builds a layer of some kind of fat, and i can literally scrape it off with my fingers. Some white mush.

This thread is getting very dirty

weird thread. Yeah, the mouth lining is damaged and peels off, it's probably from using too much antiseptic. I'm sure there is a recommended usage on the label; see if you aren't adhering to it.

Someone else who does this too?! I'M FINALLY NOT ALONE!

It's just toothpaste the length of my brush. I think maybe it's just too strong. Some of the toothpastes I've had don't do it.

Yeah, I would try something different. Maybe something mild with baking soda instead of nuclear waste. (hahaha just kidding)

right now i'm experiencing dry mouth so i have no phlegm at all! i'd rather have buckets of spit than no spit because its hard to talk without sounding raspy

I get it when drinking milk, but I suppose the whiteness of it is from the milk.

They're called tonsil stones, I get them rarely.

Thank god I'm not the only one. I always do this and then eat something salty like chips, and it burns like hell. I started doing this like a month ago when I got really nervous. I can't stop.

I was also going to say something naughty about white stuff on your mouth but I'll keep that to myself

Those are different. They're caused by bacteria crap and the rotting food left over in your mouth that hide behind your tonsils until they become loose and come out in your spit. They also smell horrible.

I don't use toothpaste and I still get these so-called mouth boogers.

This thread is fucking gross. There's something wrong with your guys' mouths.

Yeah, I get at bit of that stuff around the corners of my mouth sometimes. No idea what causes it, doesn't seem to be anything to with toothpaste.

I get this too, seems to come out of nowhere.

Tonsil stones? No... tonsil stones are hard and little pebble like things, and I've had a tonsil stone before. This is slime... slime that can be stretched and whatever else you want done with it!

EDIT: http://www.davidpbrown.net/2006/01/06/mouth-boogers/

This is a post I wrote almost 2 years ago about getting white goo (Mouth Boogers) in my mouth after using Listerine’s Whitening Pre-Wash. Since the original post, I’ve had thousands of hits to this page and hundreds of comments from others who have either had these Mouth Boogers or have attempted to explain the cause and remedy for them. To do my part to help, I’m going to summarize what has been revealed here.

1. Mouth Boogers appear to be the result of the peroxide used in over the counter whitening agents. Effectively, the peroxide is exfoliating the inside of your mouth and the removed dead skin becomes a Mouth Booger. Of course not everyone will get Mouth Boogers. We’re the lucky few, I guess?

2. Mouth Boogers are not dangerous and pose no threat. They’re just gross.

3. There is no “cure” for Mouth Boogers. If you want whiter teeth and don’t want to go through a professional whitening procedure then you’re going to have to suck it up and deal with the Mouth Boogers. Some people have reported that excessive rinsing of their mouth with mouthwash after using the whitening agent helps reduce the amount of Mouth Boogers they experience.

4. Most companies do not acknowledge Mouth Boogers but if you contact them, they may send you coupons for free products. It worked for someone else.

5. Mouth Boogers are not the result of Tonsiloliths. That is a separate condition where plaque from your tonsils end up in your mouth. These little items are hard and smell hellishly bad if crushed.

6. Finally, some people have wanted to file a class action lawsuit against companies who produce whitening agents. I think this is dumb. No one has been hurt or had any negative effects from Mouth Boogers. Just get over it and stop trying to win the legal lottery. You’re dumb.

Okay, I think that’s about it. I may update this as information is posted. Thanks to everyone who has kept this post alive for so long. Below, you will find my original post on Mouth Boogers and the hundreds of comments from others.

That's too much toothpaste. Try using less. Like a small pea-sized blob.

That's for 5 year olds!

Or for people who realise that toothpaste tubes that tell you to use lots of toothpaste equals more money for the manufacturer.

(yes that's right there is a global toothpaste conspiracy)

After doing a little bit of research, you seem to be right. Something I've not ever known... I've always heard that as an adult you need to use about a half an inch to an inch long length of toothpaste.

Not mouth boogers like Raziaar, but sometimes I cough up semi-hard pieces of yellow phlegm. Stinks like hell and leaves a bad after taste. I don't get them as often anymore since I quit smoking like 3 years ago.

I also bite my lip skin.

+1 it looks like I'm wearing lipstick because I bite so much skin off and my lips get all red.

Gentlemen, i think its time we start a new hl2.net group dedicated to this awesomness alone.

I've had this stuff too. I just assume it's like a buildup of inside cheek skin or something.

And I bite the inside of my cheek alot. So much that when I try to eat the next day, it's hurts.

I don't know how it works for the other people, but for me, it's a habit. I do it alot and it doesnt hurt, not until it becomes sore the next day.

I keep reading the title as "Mouth Breathers."

I wish it was about mouth breathers. This topic sound sticky and gross.

Nothing a good mouth rinse can't solve.

I bite my lips when there's the bigger flaps of skin sticking out from the surface (a bad habit I gotta' stop!) but I don't really know about the rest of this borderline-mutation shit that's going on with you guys.
