Move up in rank, diff. between PC and 360?

Is the ranking system between pc and 360 different because i have no idea how it ranks people and just curious to find out...is it based on ACTUAL skill? please let me know my peeps

Ranking system? I can only assume you mean the Steam-Community ranking? which I believe is based on playtime.

...That sounds sad, because I am really good at Tf2 but might be buying it on the 360 for no reason but to compare (and to play in bed ) and it'll show that I am crap...

yea whoops my bad guys, i mean how can i connect with people more on my level? The x box 360 version has like a points system and it does rank you but i was curious if anyone knew how it worked...i dont have the money to buy a pc worthy of HL2 so i gotta go console but just curious about that. Or let me know if i am completely wrong on the subject

there is no ranking system on pc. xbox360 games have this feature called "matchmaking" which chooses a server for you that has people that are closer to your level. honestly it doesn't make a difference, since a higher level means they play alot and might suck still so matchmaking is one of the worst systems ever. i prefer picking my own server.

its not based on playtime its based on your rank, but usually if you rank is high then you play alot.

I find its the only real way to get a game, if you use filters there is simply no matches available. I swear, there must only be 10-20 servers open at one time on the 360 when PC have over 1000-2000

That is one of reasons why online console gaming sucks
