Movement Issue: Can't use multiple buttons at one (apparently)

I just bought a new Dell with Vista Home Premium. Whenever I play HL2 (any of the games within Orange Box) I can't use two or more keyboard movement keys at once. For example, if I'm moving forward (using the "w" key) and then while holding "w" down, click strafe right ("d"), as soon as I release the strafe key, I no longer am moving forward (even though I'm still holding down the "w" key.)

This issue happens with any combination. If I'm moving forward, continue holding forward and jump, as soon as I land, I stop moving forward. Really annoying and almost makes it unplayable.

Any ideas? Thanks people.

Install keyboard drivers.

printer drivers - already tried that

Apparently, the logitech combo I have say that there aren't any drivers for Vista, and that I should just use the generic drivers within Vista for the keyboard.

I'm actually beginning to think it's due to the PS2/USB adapter I have them plugged into (yeah, yeah, I know it's time to upgrade.) It's just weird because it worked fine in my old machine (but I wasn't using the PS2/USB adapter.)

Time to visit NewEgg I guess.

wtf. printer drivers do not = keybord drivers.
