I'm building a huge MP3 catalog and wondring if anyone has used any software out there to truly manage large collections (10,000+ files).

One task is to audit ID3V2 tags and correct info, but also to rename files for consistency. I want to be able to search all the ID3V2 tag fields, such as locate all songs from 1980s, or a particular artist or type of music, assemble a list which I can edit down into a playlist and publish as an M3U, PLS, or B4S. Pressing CDs/DVD is a bonus.

Anyone *really* use any software to manage uber-collections?

aye this would be usefull, as I am also pushing over the 100,000+ mark now.
And I haven't the time to go through them all indivually...

Are you serious? Wouldn't that be close to 1 TB of MP3s?
