Whenever someone tries to send me a file over the internet, mostly mp3s and .exes, it automatically blocks it as it says the file might be unsafe.

Anyway i can turn that rubbish off?

Tools> Options > file sharing

Maybe there's an option in there.

I hate the new msn. i use 6.2 atm. and msn block you sharing exe's which was an uber pain in the arse when i had to send an anti-spyware file to a friend. I hate the way msn has gone.

Yeah I had the same problems even with some image files, my advice is to put it as a zip file it goes through all right then.

Pfft, if it's going to block files it could at least block the ones that actually contain hostile programming, rather than a funny pic or movie that I want to send to my friends.

mine wont le me view contact cards anymore ;(

I don't use MSN Messenger anymore because I got so fed up with all the problems with it. I now use Trillian and its far better, there is a great community over at teh forum on there homepage to solve the very limited number of problems that you have.

The problem with MSN Messenger is the growing number of clueless kids that are getting it and using it... they'll accept anything, exes or scr's etc without thinking twice. I can understand why microsoft decided to block the sending of harmful files, but for gods sake microsoft, at least let us turn the safetys off... :(

I like the autorouting that the new messenger does though, nice'n easy.
