multiplayer mods won't work

Hi i have had difficulties with every single multiplayer mod for hl2 they will load to the menus, but when i click on a server to play the game will load until sending client info and than just stop i'll click anywhere on the screen or press a button and the game crashes and all i get is a lousy windows xp error asking if i would like to send the information please help

my specs are very low and i have to run at dx level 7 other wise my hl2 games are a little to slow but even at dx level 9 the same thing happens but counterstrike source, dod source and deathmatch source all run perfect, please help

768mb of ram, amd duron 850mhz, ati radeon 9550 128mb video card 80 gig harddrive

your cpu is way way way to weak.

the minimum for hl2 is 1.7ghz.

yeah i know but cs source and shit plays fine at dxlevel 7 just mods won't work
