Multiplayer problem?

Why can't I play multiplayer? I start it, and on every server it says i'm missing a certain file or something. It's a fresh install, I've seen nothing about patches being released yet. What gives?


EDIT: Oh I think it might be because I don't have the mod that allows more players in multiplayer.

its a glitch everyone has. You have to type in the server IP Manually

I cant connect to any servers either
it gives me "server full" (even when there are 0/4 0/16) or asks for passwords when I filter out passworded servers...

I have been able to connect to one mp game in the last 2 days... and it ran like absolute crap (ping was about 100, but it acted like 900000.. I bounced around and couldnt target anything... walk through a door, poof lag puts me back to where I was like 30 seconds ago)

God damn multiplayer was meant to be tacked on.

BUT ATLEAST MAKE IT WORK!

According to all the Doom 3 fanboys *I* talked to, all of them claimed multiplayer was going to be well done, that ID was known for great multiplayer, and it was in fact NOT tacked on. Oh how they were proved wrong.

From what i've heard it seems as though the game is very rushed.
