While LAN gaming, I am also having a hard time finding the options of the boards I want to rotate through. I can select the first board, and then it just keeps defaulting to the Nova Prospekt level and... the name escapes me...the one where you have the bldg in the center with the wrecked cars outside.. anyway, it won't seem to select anything but these two maps on the rotation settings.. can someone lend a hand? I don't mind running a dedicated server, if that's what it takes- thanks!! :E

Running a dedicated is usually a better option imho. What you need to do is tell the server you want to run the custom maps. By default, it will only run the two offical ones. To do it from the ingame system, there whould be an area to select map to run when setting the server up. Just go inot there and add the custom maps you want.

For a dedicated server, go in and edit mapcycle.txt to include the maps you want.

Cool, thanks Link. Will I need a seperate program for hlds (like a download from a website), or is it buried in the game folders somewhere?

The dedicated server is in the play games menu, however, just use that to download it, don't run it through the play menu. Once its there search for the folder inside your hl2 directory (Under steam). As I say, place the maps you want to run in the maps directory of your dedicated server, and edit mapcycle.txt to make the server run them.

Running a dedicated server in this way is the hardest way, but even then is not that difficult and offers a much more configurable server.
