Music not from HL2 fitting into HL2...

When driving the car in episode 2 I was listening to "Ridin' Dirty" and I thought it fit perfectly.

Anyone else have songs that would fit perfectly in certain places? I'm thinking about replaying :sniper: the game with my own "soundtrack."

Play the later part of the Antlion battle with "Let the bodies hit the floor" that's just epic then :D Replace the existing mp3 with it, so it comes in when the antlions start flooding.

And for Strider Battle, repeat Hell March & Hell March 2, those are the best songs ever.

Christ, can you get any more cliched?

I listen to a lot of techno when adventuring around the HL2 universe. I recently beat Ep 2 listening to a lot of Basshunter and it was EPIC.

lol, didn't they make the DOTA Techno song?

Personally, any epic symphonies with electronics beats would have fit perfectly, also while exploring the caves, it would be good to have ambint music..

There's a few places I think Autechre or Between Interval would fit perfectly. It's really integral to me that there be no lyrics, and the music should generally be electronic. Otherwise it just seems kind of stupid.

The perfect song for Gordon, Decyfer Down-Fight like this. Take a listen and you'll know why i chose it.

I'm a noob for asking, but how can I replace the music HL2 and it's episode's with (for example,) let the bodies hit the floor and other music? I would really like to try this.

Another good song is The Quiet Place by In Flames.. the song can be interpreted as Gordon singing it in his head.

Whatever happened to that idea to have a trackplayer in the Hot Rod?

basshunter ain't techno...its crappy dance music. :)

I'm quite happy with the music that's played in the games. They're really good. They fit the atmosphere perfectly. Any other song for me, just wouldn't.

You've probably only beat the game once or a couple of times :p

What? Is this reacting to you is it?

Anyway. Music during TF2 on the other hand, is good.

Hell yeah! That stuff gets me PUMPED. :sniper:

...I literally cannot think of what to say. "Vi sitter h?r i Venten o spelar Dota" gets you PUMPED?! Do you have a condition? Some kind of hereditary desease your father passed on to you?

Russian Circles are a a great band for background music. They're instrumental so it doesn't distract at all.

I don't know exactly why, but Conjure One "Pilgrimage" would fit... somewhere ;)

YO Hate Me Now by Nas is a great song for the whole series throughout.

Frank Sinatra's My Way the moment you get the trigger for any endgame. In the case of HL2...when you blow the reactor.

LAWL I'm a girl though, I'm allowed to like crappy dance music. :p *sings along with Groove Coverage* :imu:

I also think the Stars Revolt album by PM5K would be good.

In the big fights i listen to Falling apart by Zebrahead, it fits awesome :D

I thought that "Through the Fire and the Flames" worked well for the Air-boat section, "The Wand of Abris"-Therion was fairly good for when you're not supposed to touch the sand, "Puritania"-Dimu Borgir for ravenholm, "the roof is on fire" for the last fight in HL2, "Name of the Game"- Crystal Method on the hotel part, and "Big Balls"- ACDC for the strider fight.

I play pink floyds dark side of the moon. It fits perfectly. :p

In HL1, before you get to Xen, where you have to finish the portal puzzle, where you start at the bottom and have to reach the top. If you enter one of those portals (I believe it's number 5) you enter a room where 3 scientists are hiding.

I shoot in their leg with the crossbow and they start to dance, and i always put this song on: 'Chicane - Don't Give Up' from the Illusion Solar 2000 album.

I always think it's funny :p

I don't know if it's been done on purpose or not. But it's just the 'scared' animation. Only this time they're doing it in an endless loop and at different speeds.

The soundtrack to Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.

Edit: I just got it after being nearly IMPOSSIBLE to find online and I'm listening to it again after all these years and wow...a lot of the music (especially at the beginnings of the songs) REALLY sounds like music from HL...

Im surprised no one has brought up this band, but after purchasing the "Year Zero" album by Nine Inch Nails i played through HL2 again while just listening to that CD. The concept behind the album fits with the HL2 type of storyline (rebellion, a resistance, etc.) and it takes immersion to a whole new level.

Also, Getting Smaller by Nine Inch Nails fits pretty well imo.
