Well I didnt find anywhere else to put it so..

Does anyone know any rock (all kinds) songs, that are covers, or have parts of classical music (solo's and such)?

Their name would be enough, though I preffered the band aswell :)

Thanks in advance.

Nightwish do the majority of their songs with some classical instruments. You might want to try the song Moondance for first reference.

i don't know if this is what you're talking about gerber, but here's a pretty interesting link that might address your question?? it talks about black sabbath's 'iron man', at least.. it's a start.

Dude .....you have to download this one song. Its by Dream Theater and its live. The guitarist (John Petrucci) is amazing. He plays flight of the bumble bee and that one Italian song.

Im not really sure what its actual name is, but the file I have of it is called

John Petrucci - Guitar Solo(Live from Dream Theatre).mp3

try and find it.

There's a song by the Doors (I think it's called Spanish Caravel, or something like that) that has the tune from Asturias, a Spanish flamenco/guitar song.

As for covers... there are thousands, just search for them on Kazaa or Soulseek...

thank you very much

about petrucci, i'm a really big dream theater fan, so.. :)
though i totally forgot about that solo :)

I know, I know!!

Sgt. Pepper's Lonley Hearts Club Band [Reprise], from The Beatles.
It's not what you expect, really. Makes a nice breakbeat if you slice it.

Or another,
Ballad of John and Yoko, also from The Beatles. Another nice one.

And finally, another Beatles:
The Magical Mystery Tour

All three are very fast, more energetic songs. They quite surprised me.

rock and classical music? As in orchestral stuff?

I that is the case, check out any song from the album S & M by Metallica and the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. Even if you're not a big fan of Metallica, you should really consider checking it out. I know people who hate Metallica, but love the stuff on this album. You can listen to samples here. It's suprisingly good stuff. I reccomened you listen to the samples of:

-- One Leaf Clover
-- Hero of The Day
-- Bleeding Me
-- Outlaw Torn
-- Until it Sleeps
-- Wherever I May Roam
-- Nothing Else Matters

I think these songs benefit the most from that little collaboration. The rest are brilliant as well though.

Also, if you are at all willing to dwelve into Black Metal, give Dimmu Borgir's new stuff a whirl. It's similar to that of S & M, but it's Black metal. I suggest checking out "Progenies of the Great Apocalypse". Sure, it's overblown, but then that's the point :)

you may want to check out some things by dirty three if you're not familiar with them.

Classical in rock, hmm?

I don't really know about rock per say but otherwise check out

Tristania
Therion
Nightwish
Dimmu Borgir
King Diamond
The new Iron Maiden
and a few others. Those are all original bands so I would highly recommend you hit up various places to try them out. I am a huge Tristania mark.

You might also want to check out Glenn Danzig's black aria.

Im not exactly sure what your asking but I'd recomment Rocket from the crypt - Particularly "Ghost shark" and "Crack party". (stfu badger :p dont even say it)

Ahahahahaha "Ghost shark"

Anyway... it's not really classical, but it's a quality rock song

Metallica - Attitude.... a very good track (and yes Tony, I like early Metallica, but they pap they release the at the moment sucks)

My sister does an electric version of Fur Elise(sp?), but I don't have a recording of it. She is a classical guitarist, and I have to torment her to get her to play Rock(even though she likes rock, she likes playing classical because it is so much more of a challenge).

Ok now u got me confused how can u have a classical rock song

You can you fool :p

Rock covers of classical music, or rock with classical instruments involved... :p

well, there're plenty of orchestral covers of rock songs. people have done the beatles, pink floyd, and frank zappa just to name three, i'm sure that sub-genre would be pretty easy to find-out about, just check out allmusic.com or something.. if that's what you're looking for.

thanks for the info :)

i'll search to see if i can find their covers..

btw, i meant rock covers of classical music, but classical covers of rock music will do just fine :)
