Muslims angry at programme "24"

An American-Islamic group has blasted the makers of Kiefer Sutherland's hit TV drama 24 after learning the first episode of the new season portrays a Muslim family as terrorists. Officials at the Council on American-Islamic Relations were made aware of the controversial episode after upset Muslims got hold of a promotional preview of the show, which airs next week. The council's spokeswoman Rabiah Ahmed says she's particularly disturbed by one scene, in which an American-Muslim teenager plots to kill Americans. She adds, "It casts a cloud of suspicion over every American Muslim family out there." Bosses at TV network Fox, who air the show, have yet to counter the comments.

But, it just seems like 24 is being a bit too forward and the American-Islamic group is being a bit too thin-skinned.

Yeah, a show called "Spooks" about the MI5 aired on BBC3 (a digital channel) before its mainstream airing on BBC1 was about a group of muslims plotting against Britain, the huge number of pathetic complaints ment that it wasn't aired... much like the level full of turban wearing sikhs in Hitman (3?) was taken out in later copies of the game because of the complaints.

It's stupid. The media is fiction, i find it pure racism to complain when a certain race is shown to be doing something bad which does reflect reality, but takes it one step further.. into a over the top entertainment program... the pc people complaining cant see this fiction from reality, as the normal fans can.

If it was a typical (stereotyped) white familly, nobody would care... you wouldn't have a council on american-american relations complaining. Some poeple really need a reality check.

it's people who make a fuss over shit like this that get games like Rainbow Six 3 to have a dumb plot where they could have focused on real world issues instead of some stupid neo-nazi shit, terrorists are everywhere, there just happens to be a focus on the ones in the middle east right now
