P.S.: I appologize for 2 vietnam threads, but these videos deserve their own

things of note:

hellicopters make dust kickup when near the ground (ala Hl2)
Grass and dirt kicks up behind vehicles
Explosions look MUCH better (grass kicks up, spits dirt etc)
vehicular explosions look the same however.
Sounds have more impact.
models look fantastic
Look at how cool the water looks now!
the weapon reload animations are spectacular (see M60, and the M90 -gren launcher)
when he is in the chopper, notice how the control stick moves as he does.
etc etc

Is anyone else struck by the crappiness of the players in the videos? I would have thought DICE would want to showcase their best moments--as demonstrated by the best players. Good videos though, definitely looking exciting.

the videos are from IGN playtesting, so IGN have crappy players
this isnt trailer material, its simply ingame play.

all i can say, is meh. the only thing that looked pretty cool, is how the reload on the m16a1, involved pulling the charging lever back, but that could be added to anything. im still unimpresses.

the m60 and M9-grenade launcher reloads were spectacular too.

DICE have been pretty good about providing demos thus far, so Im sure they would release a demo fairly soon after release....
If you enjoyed BF1942, I see no reason in not investing in Vietnam though, even if it is more of the same.. its gonna be great.

Thats how I felt, I want this game NOW!
I really wish they would add Ragdoll physics to the game.. being its on such a large scale its not really a big issue, but it sure would get rid of the old boring death sequences we have come to know and loathe.... IF I SEE ANOTHER GUY GET SHOT, STEP BACK LOOK AT HIS STOMACH AND THEN COLLAPSE TO THE GROUND, IM GONNA... errr.... well you get the idea.

cant wait till they introduce mic support (it is currently planned to be patched after release).

Overall though I have to admit a lot of my fears have been satiated slightly after checking out these videos... the water alone is going to add such a great deal to the immersion factor.
The combat in the videos looks to be clean, and fast paced... the damage also seems to be more realistic. all good things
