Hey sorry to be talking more about old news. In some recent effort to get a bit of sponsorship funding, I have tried knocking together a blog story about my bicycle tour in the summer of 2008. I posted a rough version a few months ago. This one hasn't changed a whole lot although I shortened up a few parts. I would really appreciate some feedback and any recommendations of where I can pull in traffic.

Make a menu. Right now it is one big scroll downwards. Other than that, it was great to see those pics again. What an adventure.

heh - SF is pretty unforgiving with bikes. The wife and I won't eat at a restaurant if we can't lock the bikes within eyeshot of our seat.

I have to ask about the road condition from SF to basically the Monterey area. My friend has been asking me to take that ride with him, and unless the shoulders are comfortably wide the whole way, I'm out. Were you on Hwy 1?

SF to Monterey was pretty tricky. You can't stay on Hwy 1. I went inland a bit and I think it took me two pretty long days, but I ended up getting a bit lost and going over some mountainous vinyard land. You can't ride your bike straight to Monterey because of the interstate. You end up taking some back bike path. You should look up the exact route.

Yikes, thanks. When we drive we take like 165 and 156 (not coming from SF), which seem like they'd be pretty crappy bike rides. There's always 101 :x

On topic: agree with Shakermaker. A menu of some sort is needed. How did your previous sponsorship work? Did you roll with an advertisement? It seems like it'd be easier to get a sponsorship for tires or touring gear. "Hello, my name is Dan, and I rode 8 million miles on my x brand tires and never got a flat" or "Today we've secretly switched Dan's panniers with Ziploc bags... let's see if he notices."
