Batman: "Jesus man, give it a rest. Eventually you'll rip it the **** off!"
Superman: "You have no right! Now shut up, go play with your suits fake nipples"

Cool lines dude, but your poses all seem extremely stiff and dull. That and you need to work on your anatomy a bit.

:O ...I'll never look at batman in the same light

I love the use of weighted lines, definately a great style. I particularly like the use of contrast in the HL2 pictures; it adds to the effect. The facial muscles are particularly well done. Apart from that, they just look generally great!

Thanks!

I agree I need a lot of tweaks like on the anatomy side of things, but Im glad im getting to the way I want my pictures to look. Thanks for the help, and ill post in with some newer stuff when I get the time to draw some more.

the best resource for anatomy is "Grey's Anatomy" ..it's expensive but it's absolutely the best resource next to studying a cadaver

also take life-drawing classes ..in my experience as an art teacher I can rightfully say that life drawing classes are the best way to see big gains in little time

Very nice stuff, I love the lineweight.. However, I'd advise you to work on proportions, depth and anatomy, that would make your drawings look alot better while being stylish.

i bet...

[fast forward to later in the day]Stern: Batman u look pretty spiffy in that suit, especially the nipple area!

Batman: ....

Stern: how about some dinner and a movie? [/fast forward]

okay, in all seriousness, nice stuff...those lines give a uniqueness to ur work :)

rats I didnt think my fetish for leather clad nipples was all that apparent ...just cant fool some of you guys :naughty:

@-rawspit-

You should work on your perspective and practice drawing heads and hands a bit more. The human head is one of the most difficult things to draw well. Not because it's complex, but because people are trained to notice very tiny inconsitancies in faces because that's how we distinguish one person from another. Hands are hard to draw because they're a very complex form. If you search amazon.com for books on the subject I'm sure you'll find plenty of stuff to help you improve. I believe they have one on how to draw comics the Marvel way that was co-authored by Stan Lee. You might like that.

I do like your style. You show good control in your lines.

When Im a little older Ill order some anatomy books.
At the moment I'll just keep practicing and read loads of comics :D

The last pic you posted is very good - i like the pose. The only thing you could improve on it is the arm since it seems a little big and out of place and the left side of the face - the shadow of the left eye socket makes it seem as if the eye brow is further down than that of the right eye.

The shading of the face is fine in my opinion, and the fist demonstrates the character's power, so it should be rather big. I really like your black and white work, you're excellent with comic style shading.

That last one is pretty good. Excellent style. There are still a few minor problems with the face and hand (more so with the hand). The thumb should come down a little be farther, unless he's making a fist with his fingers around his thumb. When the fist is clenched the thumb's 3rd joint comes almost to the index finger's second knuckle.

Looking at the super-man it seems that you need to work on hands in general. Remember that the middle finger is always the longest. It's about half the total length of the hand. The ring finger is next longest, then the index finger (sometimes these 2 are very close to the same length), then the pinky. The thumb extends just beyond the index finger's first knuckle. The ratio of the bones in the palm and fingers is about 2:3, such that each bone is 2/3s the length of the one before it.

good stuff, and always remember the golden ratio/divine proportion when drawing body proportions - for those who've read The Da Vinci Code know what I'm talking about. That part of the book was freaky because I tried it (elbow to tip of fingers : shoulder to tip of fingers, or head to toes : abdomen to toes) and the golden ration held true!

It's a common refference of nature for proportion. Most things in nature follow the golden ratio. I think it's 1.618:1

And yeah, it is very cool stuff, although I've never read The Da Vinci Code, it's a big concept in architectural design. Supposedly golden shapes are more pleasing to the eye.

For a second I thought A4 paper was a golden rectangle but I guess not, although it is close. By the way, if your body is in the golden proportion, it means you're fully developed.

Thanks!

I'll think about the hand stuff on my next work, thanks for the ideas.
But Im a little uninspired to be honest, cant think of what to draw now...
