Alright, so me and my band got together the other day and we tried to brainstorm names.

Me, being the genius I am, throw out Half-Life as a joke. Nobody knew the game unfortunately, and the name was voted to be our name. Now I just want to say, we're not going to make any money.

Is this illegal? If so how (copyright issues, trademark issues)

Thanks in advance

No, half-life is an actual scientific term used to describe atoms decomposing or something along those lines. They can't really copyright that.

And since it's a name (for your band), it has to be capitalized, so Half-Life as a band name should be perfectly fine.

EDIT: According to wiki it means radioactive decay.

He wasn't even asking if it was good or not... Retard.

I hate band names that don't mean shit and are just chosen because they sound cool.

Like it, shouldnt get into any trouble over it.

A name doesn't have to meaning, I believe the most important traits are that it looks good in big letters, easy to remember and easy to say.

Rubber band was a cool name, or so some people in my school thought

Last I checked the English language wasn't copyrighted.

Maybe you should call your band after your forum handle.

If you do use Half-Life as the name, just don't put any lambda symbols on your cover art, unless you're all homosexuals of course.

I wouldnt sue if someone were to use the name 'we love Gemma' as a band name
Hint hint

anyone?

no

=[
