My girl cat, Wilma, died last night at about 3:45. She was only 9 years old. She had grown systs (fluid sacks of stuff) around both kidneys last year.
So within the last couple days she had trouble breathing. Last night we took her to the local cat doctor. They discovered that she had a bunch of fluid in her lungs. They drained some of the fluid and then we sent her over to another cat hospital.
Fast forward a couple of hours where the people at that hospital tried to get more fluid. So then, after she kept struggling with them, they put her on a mild setative. When they still couldn't get any fluid, they gave her another shot of the stuff...and well...she went into cardiac arrest. She died shortly afterward.
I and my family have now learned (based on the blood tests) that she had a cancer that was responsible for the fluid. I am very, very sad that she is gone, but I feel that at least she didn't endure a long and painful death. Another reason think positive is the fact that I still have my other cat socks to confort me. At this time he is very healthy. I just hope Wilma is in a better place, where she doesn't feel so crappy...
 everyone....
