I'm sitting here with my charger and my player. I haven't used it in about two weeks. I tried to turn it on to check the battery life, but the power light on the top started flashing, so I used a pin to hit the tiny reset button at the bottom, and held that for about two seconds. Now it won't turn on, it won't charge, and it doesn't get detected by Windows.

I've tried holding the power switch and pressing the Reset button at the same time, which is something I found via google, but that didn't help.

I don't really know what I can do, I don't want to buy a new one :(

[edit] I fiddled with it and I've got it to the point where, if it's plugged in to the USB transfer cable, the power light will blink. If I unplug it, the light goes off. Maybe my battery is dead... ;(

Mine died, but that's because a friend of mine tried to update the firmware on a piece of shit laptop and it became completely bricked. Also, when it's connected to the charger (in a powered usb port or with an outlet adapter) is the blue light near the power switch on? (if it's completely drained the light won't go on for a while.. if it's dead it never will).

Can you still send it to Creative?

Melt it and drink the molten plastic. You will sh*t yourself a new one by tomorrow.

I have no idea if I can send it to Creative. I don't have any warranty information or anything, I may have thrown it out by accident.

When I plug it into the charger, the power light blinks on and off at about a 1 second rate. It doesn't get detected by Windows, and it doesn't boot itself up (the screen stays black). When I unplug it the power light turns off.

You should buy a phone...

Wait, I'm having deja vu...

Oh shi-

Just have it connected to charge and come back later to check on it.

Yeah, the same thing happened to mine... if the battery is REALLY dead, the top light will just flash, and it won't get detected by windows or boot up. Just leave it to charge overnight and you should be good to go.

Thanks guys. I had left it plugged in to the USB port, thinking that if that at least kept the power light flashing then it couldn't do any harm, and then an hour later the battery icon is back. It's almost fully charged now :D

Thanks again.

I sent mine in a couple weeks ago. Honestly, I don't take good care of things I have, even when it's MY money that I buy them with, so it was inevitable. Luckily, though, I bought the two year replacement plan from Best Buy and, after sending it into them, I received a gift card worth $314 (original price)! I'm currently looking for a replacement, if not another ZVM. The new Zens look nice... hmm...

My Vision Zen M is really dying in terms of battery life. I need to get the battery replaced but I don't know how. Do you send it off to creative, or is it a home job and just finding a spare battery online somewhere?
