I really like the idea behind this! Is this your first model, or just the first character? Either way, it's really good for a first. My fellow Iron Maiden buddy above me said, the texture is a little weird. Do you think you could post a larger picture of the model as a whole? Both textured and untextured, if possible. Also, are you going to keep these textures strictly procedural, or will you be mapping it out and making a texture?

huh? sorry... what's that mean? :(

and btw, that shiny texture is glass. proper index of refraction and all... spec level is at about 157 and gloss is mid to upper 60's i think...

edit: my this is my first character model. other models i made were ... one small environment, a head... uhh, a chair, a real low poly building, a little hallway thing, and ... some low poly space ship thing... ummm i think i made a vase... and something else i think...

and i'll get a high res picture up soon

Well procedural textures are created by algorithms, not manual painting of pixels. It looks like the bump map you used is a procedural texture, while the diffuse map is a stock photo of rusted metal or something. What I was asking is if you were going to UV map it and make a texture in Photoshop or something.

Hey, Ankalar long time no see. I got a position on the Sven Coop team recently so it looks like I will be leaving Corporate Anarchy :(

Anyway back on subject, its an alright model and quite an intresting idea (it reminds me of bone guy from the naruto manga) even though your modelling skill doesn't seem to be very experianced you are doing well. Your proberly better than me already with materials and effects since I have never done any of them and I have eben modellign 1 and a half years :O

Anyway, it needs a lot of work and changes made to it but taking into acount its your first model its quite impressive.

Are you guy to be putting any visible internal organs in?

Hola Ichi. I didn't even know CA was still alive to tell you the truth :p

Good job on that SC2 position!

nah no organs, i had thought of it, and i would have done it had i made it more of an art piece, but ehhhh .. and i might make my own bump map or something, as soon as i learn more than very beginner level uvw, then i'll probably reskin the metal parts... more advanced skinning is for next semester's class though...
